We have reservation for a 2pm entrance to the Inspiring Impressionism exhibit at the Denver Art Museum. Please meet me at 1:45 inside the main entrance to the Hamilton Wing. I will have your tickets. I need to pay for these tickets in advance, so you can pay me by cash or check for $14. If you are unable to come, please let me know at least a week beforehand. If you are a no-show on the day of the tour then I will ask you to pay for the ticket regardless.
Our ticket also gets us an exhibit audio guide and entrance to the rest of the museum. If you are a museum member, please let me know. I can arrange for your free ticket into the exhibit, which does not include the audio guide. That will be an additional $4 charge on the day of the exhibit.
Exhibition Information:
Inspiring Impressionism explores how impressionist artists were inspired by their artistic predecessors?a theme rarely examined in previous exhibitions.
Through side-by-side comparisons, this show demonstrates that impressionists, who are popularly seen as artistic revolutionaries, drew inspiration from earlier artists, including Raphael, El Greco, Rubens, van Rysdael, Velazquez, and Watteau. The exhibition features about 100 works of art, including 65 artworks by impressionist painters like Monet, Degas, and Renoir. Inspiring Impressionism will be on view through May 25, 2008.
